Rent stabilization and anti-valet garbage bill

Awhile back someone posted here a link to no valet garbage, and I’ve been getting updates from them. Currently SB 5222 is being considered and it would among other things

-Limit rent increases to 7% per year

-Require 6 months’ notice for increases over 3%

-Count fees as rent for increase calculations (Valet Garbage fees would be counted a part of rental hikes)

-Cap move-in fees to one month’s rent

-Limit late fees to 1.5% of monthly rent
