Currently, under the subreddit rules all photos of ICE citings are flagged as unconfirmed crime; however, it’s clear based on repeated posts and consistent engagement before removal that the r/Seattle community does want these sort of posts.
I’m wondering if we could find a middle ground, either by allowing for a weekly Megathread of specifically unconfirmed sightings or by allowing the posts with a specific flair.
These social media posts are essential in ensuring immigrants rights organizations, like WAISN, can arrive on scene and observe any detentions that may occur. By continuing to remove them, the r/Seattle community is enabling the abhorrent tactics currently being used to target our city’s residents.
