Role Eliminated But Not Laid Off?

Hello everyone,

I’m in a bit of a gray area here and can’t seem to find any information on the unemployment website. I was recently notified that my role is no longer required, but instead of being laid off, I’m being involuntarily moved to a different role, of which I have no knowledge or experience.

I am curious if anyone has experience with this…experience and can shed any light on if this would qualify for unemployment in the event I opted to decline the new role and ended my employment.
