Seattle Colleges Layoffs

Just read this article and I’m surprised (and not) that those making the most money are making frontline workers take the hit for financial mismanagement. I looked up the chancellor’s reported income (https://fiscal.wa.gov/Staffing/Salaries) and they make 300k. They are taking the same amount of furlough days as everyone else, so how does that make sense??

I’m a big fan of community colleges, but at this rate with them running it like a corporation who knows how long they’ll be around.
