Seattle police chief was asked to resign, councilmember confirms

A city official confirmed to The Seattle Times on Wednesday night that Mayor Katie Wilson was planning to tell Barnes he needed to resign or would be fired. Others who work with the police department or have talked to people in it said they have heard the same.

“I have been here working as hard as I can for this city, from the day I got here,” Barnes said. “Do you got that?”
