Hi everybody, I wanted to warn you all against SecureSpace Self Storage in West Seattle. My girlfriend and I rented a unit from them and moved all our stuff (enough for a one bedroom apartment) into the unit two months ago. The normal, non-promotional price was $142 per month. Now, just two months in, they’re jacking up the rent to $218 per month.
Has anybody dealt with this before? I know we probably can’t sue because the rental agreement gives them the discretion to increase rent month to month if they want. But is there any other recourse? Or another place in West Seattle we can take all our stuff to that won’t engage in this kind of predatory nonsense? It’s ridiculous that they’d raise the rent so much, so quickly, and basically use the inconvenience of moving all our stuff again against us.
