Seeking recommendations for a garden / horticultural consultant for an established yard?

We’re in the Bellevue area and are looking for recommendations for someone who does plant/garden consulting for established residential landscapes.

We used to have landscapers who were quite knowledgeable, but our current crew is more “tell us what to do and we’ll do it”, which is fine for maintenance, but we’re realizing we need more expert guidance on some mature plant issues.

We’re not looking for a full redesign, installation project, or expensive ongoing maintenance company. Ideally we’d like someone who can do a one-time or occasional consult: walk the property, evaluate plants, answer questions, and give us a prioritized action plan that our existing landscapers can execute.

Examples of the kinds of things we need help with:
– Very mature rhododendrons that are oversized, blocking light, and not blooming well
– Pruning / rejuvenation strategy for mature shrubs
– Plant health / “what’s going on with this?” troubleshooting
– Advice on whether to prune, thin, replace, or leave things alone

Does this type of person exist under a particular title (horticultural consultant? garden coach? residential horticulturist?)? Any specific recommendations for people you’ve used and trusted?
