Hey Eastside Dads,
I’m a Bellevue married dad with kids in my mid-30s. Just wondering if there are dads in this subreddit interested in getting together to build a self-improvement / friend group consisting of dads in the Eastside area.
Here’s what I imagine we could get out of it (myself included):
- Camaraderie – A space to bond over the dad life, balancing responsibilities, and just being guys.
- Self-Improvement – A supportive group where we can encourage each other to grow and pursue our own versions of success.
- Sharing Hobbies / cool things – Music / jamming, poker, sports, or random memes on internet. You name it.
- Networking – Networking, career and business opportunities will happen naturally among members. But I think the focus should be on camaraderie, friendship and community first.
Here’s how I’m thinking group interactions will play out.
- Online – We’re all busy with our lives so I’ll assume that most of the interactions and banters will happen online. We can use regular email (listserv), Telegram, WhatsApp, etc. I’m open to ideas. But if possible, I would prefer to more communication platforms and less social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram). Maybe we can start with email (less intrusive) and see if we want more dynamic platforms?
- Meetups (general) – Ideally, we plan a group-wide meetup at least once a quarter somewhere on the Eastside—could be a restaurant, park, community center, or even someone’s house.
- One-on-one connections – Naturally, some members may connect outside of the group for hangouts or side activities. That would be awesome and totally encouraged.
To get the ball rolling and gauge interest, I created an anonymous Google Form. Link here. If you’re interested, then please fill it out. All responses are anonymous, and providing your email is completely optional. I’m just gauging interest at the moment. Will share the anonymized results once I have them!
