Original Post removed for breaking rule #2: must be about Seattle or greater Seattle area. SIFF is a Seattle based non-profit organization that runs several movie theaters in the downtown and Queen Anne areas of Seattle.
Their decision to run the movie Tron:Ares for a 2 – 3 week period coming in October is at best, a huge lapse in moral judgement.
Jared Leto (the lead and one of the provincial financiers of this film) has multiple accusations of sexual harassment and assault including against minors. As a SA survivor myself it would be unconscionable to not speak out against an organization that I have otherwise loved and supported. Choosing to run this movie for any length of time goes against everything the organization supposedly stands for and giving a platform to a person of such heinous actions is deplorable. I implore those of the local community to rally against such a thing especially in lieu of everything going on about the Epstein files and the current administration of our country. It cannot be allowed to stand.
