My wife and I were awakened around 2am by what I assumed were fireworks in Baker Park across the street (a not totally uncommon occurrence). This is a nice park that my kids play in ALL the time. Occasionally have issues when there are encampments on Mary (which there currently aren’t) but overall a safe park where we’ve had no hesitation sending the kids.
Found out in the morning that someone had been murdered. Security footage corroborated the timing of the pops we heard. Cops said it was an older man with drug paraphernalia in his pockets.
Going to feel very weird sending my kids to play there for a while.
