Babe, wake up! Time for the annual r/Seattle Diamond Parking rant post!
Ran into REI like I have dozens of times before to get some wool socks on sale (25% off btw), and came back 20 minutes later to a $36 ticket for failing to register my license plate for the very clearly advertised FREE 2 HOUR WEEKEND PARKING.
What I failed to miss was the modified verbiage to register ahead of time and the SINGULAR half-sized sign above the exit of the garage saying to register even for free parking.
The customer service reps ended up comping it, but not after lecturing me about how things change, it was my fault, and how it’s just like street parking (it’s not).
I expect this behavior out of Diamond Parking, but am disappointed in REI for enabling it.
