Howdy Y’all, A couple weeks back I had posted about the Seattle Super Saunter which intends to be a FREE build your own adventure from the northernmost point of Seattle (South Shoreline/148th light rail station) to the southernmost point (Garden of Gethsemane church down in South Seattle) beginning around 9am on May 17th at the light rail station and should be around 18-25 miles (depending on route). Currently we have over 160 folks signed up to take on this fun challenge of traversing the city, many of which signed up after hearing about the saunter through Reddit. So with a little under 2 weeks to go, I wanted to put a last call out there in case were interested in joining the inaugural event. This is not a race, and not intended to be a group walk, although I will be leading a group along the suggested route in case folks want that experience. There is a start point and an endpoint and you get to traverse and see the city how you want to see it. It is meant to be an opportunity to see Seattle from a new perspective whether that is walking, running, biking, rip-sticking, taking the bus or a combination of the modes. You can go alone or with friends, or strangers you meet at the start. Afterwards there will be a bar/brewery for folks to meet up to share their journey with others and form community. The purpose of the event is to encourage folks to walk/take transit, to build community and to appreciate the city of Seattle. I can’t promise what you’ll see, but can promise it will be fun, you’ll meet some great people, you’ll see a new side of Seattle and you’ll always be able to tell folks that you traversed the entire length of our fair city. We hope that you join and are excited to share the experience with folks who have signed up already. If anyone would like to learn more. Check out our website https://seattlesupersaunter.com/ for more information or to sign up to get updates. Happy to answer any questions folks might have too! Lastly if there are any photographers who would be interested in joining along DM me. submitted by /u/AnEvilPedestrian |
