This is gonna come off as a weird question but is it legal to catch and release jellyfish?

I’ve read mixed results ranging from I can’t have more than 10 jellyfish for personal use (whatever that means) to having none for personal use. My issue is I’d just like to identify them and then release them back in the same waters. The fish and wildlife website wasn’t much help but if anyone else has experience with this I’d greatly appreciate your insight!
