To the man who stood up for me on the bus today, thank you

I was riding the E line on my way home today when a homeless man started yelling at me and making comments about my race. He sat down beside me and was pressing me up against the wall, I was terrified and nearly crying when another man stood up and asked “Miss are you okay with how he’s talking to you?” and I replied no, and the homeless man started attacking him. The bus driver interfered and homeless guy said he was getting off at the next stop, so we kept going. He kept yelling as he got off the bus and I just feel shaken up and confused.

Any tips on how to deal with these situations? I feel scared to talk back to them.
