Transit security’s doing good work in the ID tonight

I didn’t even have the chance to be uncomfortable before security was on it twice in a row.

On one hand, she (the guard) seemed to hop a bit too quickly on a woman who was sitting and minding her own business, but after thinking about it a bit, I’m glad she checked in with her. The woman answered her normally and behaved well, so after a quick chat, security left her alone. But I realized that it made me feel more at ease to have heard the woman speak. I got to make the judgement that she wasn’t about to get up and bother me, and I could lower my guard. That was a nice change from my usual MO in the ID.

Also, the elevators had recently been washed out and one of them didn’t smell of piss at all, which was nice. And to top it off, there was a young guy singing quietly to whatever he was listening to, and I don’t know what it was, but it sounded like some kind of hymn or gospel and he had a very nice voice.

So, all this to say, I had a surprisingly pleasant time catching the train in ID tonight. Thanks, transit security and random singing dude.
