Unsafe passing distance by other cyclists

Hi, I bicycle daily for my work commute on a two lane two way dedicated bike path. Once in a while a cyclist will buzz me when they pass on the left, within an inch. No “on your left” or any warning. My reflexes are to avoid a collision, it’s jolting. There’s plenty of room in the other lane to pass me, and it’s not like I’m hogging both lanes, I usually stay far right until I need to pass someone. Why is this a thing? It seems really aggressive and unnecessary. Is there some cyclist code I’m not aware of? If you’re one of those cyclists can you please explain why you’re creating an unsafe situation, or at least rudely surprising other cyclists? Do you think it’s fun or funny?
