Was I not supposed to play on the Griffin, or was it made with play in mind?

I remember climbing on the griffin sculpture as a kid and trying to slide down the tail. I don’t know if I wasn’t supposed to do that, or not. Other kids played on it, too. Plus, I just figured “well the salmon sculpture at Carkeek is made to be slid down, so maybe this one is, too!”
