The eastbound left turn onto the 7th Ave NE/I5 ramp from NE 50th St has gotten ridiculous. There’s only time for one or two cars to turn legally before the light changes (although I usually see a few more running the red light, probably because other traffic runs red lights and cuts the already short time to almost nothing). Traffic backs up for several blocks. Once you get through, the light-controlled ramp on to I5 is often empty rather than holding a small set of cars waiting to get onto I5. That’s the place literally designed for queueing and nobody can get to it because they’re queued up on the previous block. It’s stupid to not have it last long enough to at least let half of the cars waiting on the light through – feels more like some of the terrible lights on Mercer. Also, what drugs is google maps on, showing it as green instead of blackest black? I spent several minutes sitting there waiting for 5 circles to get through. submitted by /u/jodawi |
