For those out of the loop, SPD posted on Twitter trying to dispute nation-wide data showing crime is down. They did this through a voting poll “do you feel safe walking in seattle at night.” Here’s Westneat’s recent article noting crime is down.
Embrace there being less crime, fuck this fake news bs, numbers don’t lie. Feeling safe or unsafe doesn’t mean crime isn’t down right now. There’s less crime across the country, stop trying to be provocative for a personal agenda, it’s a disservice to our community. Fuck SPD till the day I die, unfortunately. Wish they’d hold themselves to a higher standard, it’s a shame. But we know that won’t be the case in our lifetime.
Also, are they checking these voters’ zip codes? Obviously no. But we can all agree someone from a small town like Index wouldn’t feel comfortable walking in a city at night. Thanks SPD for wasting your time with this tweet at the expense of tax payers.
