How to help reduce bike thefts: report chop shop encampments

Bike thieves collect stolen bikes in a central encampment “chop shop” to be taken apart and sold.

If you see an encampment with a bunch of obviously stolen bikes do the following:

1. Get the Find It Fix It app
2. Using the app report “Unauthorized Encampment”, note the address or coordinates of the encampment and mention the presence of stolen bikes.

The more people who report the more likely these camps are removed from the area. While this won’t get ride of bike thefts completely, it makes it harder for them to operate in our area.
