The rent is too damn high!!

How is MFTE affordable for anyone? You can’t even call this workforce housing.

Under the new MFTE Program 7, developers get up to 24 years of property tax exemption and still get to charge $2,200/month for their “affordable” units. Where is the public benefit? Are you kidding me?

Meanwhile, the city is dealing with a $100 million or so budget deficit and losing $20 million in tax revenue every year that could be collected from these landlords.
