I was out for an early run in Paradise Valley (Maltby/Woodinville area) this weekend when a barred owl swooped me and took my hat right off my head. It hung out in a tree pecking at it, dropped it in the brush, then watched me try to decide if I dared go get it back. A little unnerving when you’re out there alone just after sunrise. Funny thing is, I was actually attacked twice by an owl on a different trail about a mile away the week before – and I saw multiple owls on this run, so I’m guessing the young owls are establishing their areas and being extra territorial right now. I had a 360 cam running and ended up catching the whole thing. Anyone else had recent owl encounters? submitted by /u/NullValued |
