Hey everyone,
just want to warn people because this freaked me out bad.
Yesterday (November 17, 2025) around 8 pm I grabbed bubble tea from Timeless Tea Roosevelt Way. As soon as I left the shop I turned onto one of the smaller, quieter side streets heading south toward the U-District (not staying on Roosevelt Way itself, it was one of those narrow residential-ish streets).
Earbuds in, sipping my tea, happy and full. Then I notice this old, beat-up dark sedan (early 2000s, rattly) creeping super slow behind me. Kept getting way too close, backing off, then close again. I moved all the way over on the tiny sidewalk, and the car just pulls up and stops right beside me. Driver (Black guy,20-30s) rolls down the window and asks if I have $10. I said “Sorry brother, no cash.” Another Black guy in the passenger seat. They then creeped alongside me for 20–30 meters, asking over and over, speeding up a little and slamming the brakes like they were trying to box me in or get me to stop.
When the driver suddenly gunned it, cut in front of me, and braked hard to block the sidewalk, I fullon sprinted, cut down another side street, and lost them. Definitely felt like a robbery setup at best, or trying to get me close to the car for something worse.
So yeah, if you grab tea or food from the Roosevelt Way area and walk off onto the smaller side streets after dark, please keep the volume low or one earbud out and stay aware of cars creeping behind you. That whole area gets dead quite fast at night.
Glad I trusted my gut and ran. Stay safe out there.

I just finished filing police report.
Definitely keeping one earbud out, walking on busier streets, and staying way more aware from now on. Appreciate y’all looking out for each other. Stay safe out there
