I was naively under the impression that we knew enough in Seattle not to do shit like this, but apparently not, so PSA:
Not all disabilities are visible. Not even all the disabilities that would qualify you to use an accessible parking spot.
If you see someone WALK to their car parked in a disabled spot, 99% of the time, you are seeing a DISABLED person walk to their car.
Please, for Pete’s sake, don’t stop your car and yell “you don’t look disabled” at that person. Whatever you think you are doing, you’re not. What you’re doing is harassing a disabled person for *checks notes* not performing disability how you like to see it.
First off, it’s absolutely none of your business what their disability is or isn’t. Second, the state puts us through all kinds of nonsense to get the damn placard/plate in the first place, so you can rest assured we have been harassed enough. Your assistance is not necessary.
Next time, just keep it to yourself.
