My husband and I have been looking at condos in the $1-1.5 mil range for the last 6 months and it’s quite disappointing. I’ve seen some “gems”, though they went pending really quickly and we aren’t looking to relocate just yet, but most places are extremely overpriced and in need of serious remodeling because they’re kinda… out of date or rough looking. Almost no one seems to be interested in making their places actually look more attractive, which I assume is because so many of them are being rented out. New condos are crazily priced and we’re looking to upsize, not downsize.
I get that living in a condo is kind of a luxury, but I’ve been having a terrible time adjusting to the American way of living and really hoped Downtown Bellevue could be like a mini European city for me. By that I mean not rely on a car and feel safe walking. We’re looking to make the move before the end of the year, but given how few new places are popping up now I’m starting to lose hope. Should we not purchase and just rent instead? We were really looking forward to finally settling somewhere and not renting anymore.
