I’m at the north end of the line and see the very end of the line at Lynnwood every day. Every day I see the lines of cars completely filling up the Lynnwood parking garage, that is not designed to be a permanent end of the line garage. Too often people say, “just park at Ash Way and take the bus down”. That adds easily 30 minutes or more just to get to the station!
The state and SoundTransit are making a critical mistake by not pushing to continue this project and extend the lines to Tacoma and Everett NOW.
The line extension projects take YEARS and at this point, if they start now the lines wouldn’t open easily until 2030. If they wait until 2030, then it’s year after that.
We are just spending such valuable time. This is a critical infrastructure mistake that shouldn’t be made.
Whatever the funding needed, we should be actively pursuing trying to make it happen.
