If you live north of the ship canal bridge, you feel my pain. This was taken on Roosevelt almost a full mile north of the lake City/75th st i5 on ramp. The two buses in the rear eventually gave up on their 67 route and turned their lights to TRM, resulting in 2 huge empty buses taking up huge amounts of space. And I saw a 4th bus in the queue around 92nd street. The traffic is full standstill from 100th st to 75th st every morning – slow enough this morning that I passed 3 buses walking 5 blocks to the coffee shop, and the same three buses walking home. The city tells drivers to take the bus to avoid ship canal traffic. But taking the bus guarantees that traffic, because there aren’t bus lanes. We have created more late eights, at least until construction finishes at the end of next year. The only way I’ve found to avoid it is lime biking on back streets to a rail station. submitted by /u/CrystalQuartzen |
