Started biking along on Phinney Ave N several months ago to drop off my kiddo at daycare and then catch the bus. Do the round trip several times per week, fastest way from crown heights to Fremont. From all the repetition, you start to notice things along the ride, but you also take things as they are and don’t think twice. But there were two sections of pavement on the east side of the street (heading north on Phinney, right at 52nd st) that had super uneven pavement, kinda brutal to bike over. Especially with a toddler on the back and a bag of stuff. Usually parked cars on the right and traffic on the left so it’s hard to avoid. But as a frequent bike commuter, you do learn to live with those things. Finally, I’d finally had enough and figured I’d report it via Find It, Fix It. Honestly, had low expectations, just felt like the only thing I could do to tell someone about how annoying that section was. On August 21st, I reported it on the app with some pictures. And about a week and a half later, POOF, those two sections had been repaved. Hallelujah! Thank you to the city for fixing it and doing it pretty swiftly! submitted by /u/Grandimal |
