Help for hoarding situation- low income

ANY ADVICE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I don’t know if I’ll even get a reply to this or if it is in the right place but anything is welcome.

My best friend lives in Seattle, in a one bed apartment. I am in the UK and not able to fly out at the moment as I am caring for an injured spouse.

She has had the year from hell- sudden and extremely traumatic bereavement, stalking and domestic violence, legal battles, an animal attack resulting in hospitalisation, negligence and intimidation from her building management. It’s been a nightmare and she has gone through it all completely alone.

Her tenancy is up soon and she needs to move. Her apartment is approaching a hoarding situation- dishes and trash, fruit flies, no sheets on the bed; packages, papers, clothes, jewellery, makeup, books, art supplies everywhere. She has severe ADHD on top of everything and is totally overwhelmed, she can’t even start with organising or packing. She’s so ashamed and embarrassed, she needs someone who will not judge and will be sympathetic towards her possessions but also take charge and help her sort through things. Someone who can remove junk and take donations away would be amazing, and the apartment will need a deep clean after.

I want to help facilitate this but the services I am finding only seem to do some or parts of the task and each is very expensive, so it’s adding up to thousands of pounds and a lot of different appointments and contacts, which she can’t handle. She has no family or friends, no neighbours, no support. This is causing her so much stress and upset, she can’t sleep or eat and her health is bad.

Can anyone recommend services or organisations who can help? Any ideas would be gratefully received but please be kind, she is already beating herself up about this enough. Going forward we are looking into therapy, disability benefits, ongoing support, but we need to start somewhere and this is the most time pressing. Thank you in advance.
