How do you get your high school student to and from school??

We’ve got a freshman going to BHS this year and I continue to have my mind blown that BSD doesn’t provide high school transportation. I’ve got a job, my husband has a job – how the hell do I get my kid home from school in the middle of the work day?

Public transport will take will take an hour, with a bus transfer – she can walk there in that time. Our friends in our neighborhood are in the same predicament – so that’s not an option. She’ll need to be at school for 7am – staying until after 5 is unreasonable.

We’re considering Lyft for days we can’t get out of work. Is this really what people do?

So, I’m looking for the wisdom of those before me – how we do get through until she’s got a drivers license in two years??
