I-638 Is Disgusting

I’m shocked, horrified, and disgusted that so much of our supposed leftist state (ofc eastern WA voted for it) is voting yes on this inherently predatory initiative. I don’t know if people even realize the horrors that they’re about to unleash on young girls for wanting to play sports all to prevent maybe twelve trans girls from participating.

This is what the stranger wrote, “If passed, I-638 would be the most extreme trans sports ban in the country, mandating genital exams, genetic testing, and hormonal testing for girls playing sports in high school, middle school, and in some cases, elementary school. Trans people have never dominated sports and there is zero evidence they ever will dominate sports. But requiring this shit is a great way to get a child molested, exclude a girl with high testosterone from competing, and create a higher barrier to entry for every girl who wants to play a school sport, all to keep somewhere between 10 and 20 trans people off the fields and courts. No, no, no.”

I can see that thankfully Seattle voted no but far too many districts outside of the city are voting yes. If you voted yes and are reading this, you truly disgust me, and I hope you have an awful holiday season. This will do so much harm to girls across the board all because people are unjustifiably scared of trans kids. People are willing to risk the bodies of young girls to prevent a tiny subsection of an already small minority of people from playing sports with their friends.

This is incredibly alarming for the trans community in the PNW as this has been one of very few places in the country where we’ve felt safe. Many trans people travel from far reaches to find sanctuary here only to find that there are wolves in sheep’s clothing when it comes to voting.

This makes me sick.
