My neighbor is an absolute menace to society. He doesn’t work he is home all the time. He is in his 40s? Idk. Anyhow it always starts out so nice right? He drinks a lot at home and but wouldn’t make much of a scene outside his apartment. To his credit he does still go across the street to smoke cigs which I appreciate 😅
Things have really escalated this last year. Idk if he is mixing drugs and alcohol or he is bipolar but anyhow we live somewhere with a popular busy bike trail on a nice day. He was so wasted he could barely stand he was throwing bottles at people he was chasing families he was all over the place, absolutely belligerent. He screamed the N word and all other kinds of really profane things. It got the point I called the cops on him because he was going to be a danger to himself or others.
He had smashed our Nextdoor neighbors window in and had cut himself to badly they ended up taking him to the hospital. He was finally quiet for like 4-5 days and now has gone back into his habits.
He plays the same SONG on repeat for hours and also screams in his apartment. Talks to himself constantly, taps on the walls.
Management has said they can’t evict him which I understand given our cities tenant protections but this is scary for all of us in this building. It’s a split up house. They said we could file a restraining order but I haven’t done that before and am of course worried about retaliation on his part because he is so unpredictable.
This just sucks 🙁
Im currently on hold with tenants rights to get some advice but am hoping this greater community might have some thoughts. Thanks yall.
