SEIU 925 rallies at UW, gives public comment at Regents meeting

SEIU 925 held a rally of about 40 people outside the Gates Center at UW and then went in where (I think) 3 different members gave public comment.

I couldn’t find a post on social media with all of their demands, but someone talked to me outside and said the main ones are:
– a cost of living adjustment to their wages (several of them had signs saying “A 0% raise is not a raise!”)
– safer staffing levels particularly at UW Medicine
– protesting removal of all DEI and diversity-related clauses from their contract

At the end of the public comment period, SEIU 925 members filed out chanting “C-O-L-A, UW workers need fair pay!”
