With it being a CRAZY day, as a metro driver I want to say thank you to all the people lost and confused on where to go and NOT taking it out on bus drivers.
Typically when there is a major service disruption and buses get detoured passengers will let their frustrations out and drivers get the brunt of it since we are who the public sees. Today I didn’t get any or hear of any other drivers catching that today. And I was out driving multiple routes starting at 430am and starting my last trip as they called end of reroutes at 4pm. 13 hours and got a lot of thanks, good luck, joking around, and smiling faces.
The kinda day that can make a lot of question of choices of career was one that had a lot of drivers being happy. So thank you all for dealing with the mess of downtown bus routing and not taking it out on us for saying this is as fast as we go today or sorry but no idea where that bus is routed to today.
