To the lady plunging at the waterfront access beach this morning

Updated

This morning there was a lady sitting in the water at the habitat access beach downtown (I think just cold plunging), and I heard her tell this guy that he was making her uncomfortable so I stopped and watched from the Molly moon’s that’s right there. He kept saying something about how hot/attractive she was for getting the water. Then after few times, told her to come out of the water to talk to him a couple times as well. That’s when she said she was uncomfortable to get out. He wasn’t subtle and was projecting to be heard When she stood her ground and told him he was making her uncomfortable, the guy kept saying he wasn’t trying to make her uncomfortable, but then wouldn’t stop talking to her or leave then. This made me really glad that I didn’t just go about my day. I wanted to make sure that she was safe and eventually she get out of the water when the Park maintenance team came, but it seemed like she was rattled.

2 things: 1. To my dudes, if someone is telling us that they’re uncomfortable being in space with us, we need make space for them to feel comfortable to leave. 2. I’m honestly embarrassed by how few people stopped to make sure that she was ok.

I know we can do better.
