On a dog walk, I get to pick wild blackberries from a dead end street, and remember picking blackberries with my dad as a kid. I look out over the glorious Puget Sound, see the sun sparkling, a ferry, a tanker, a cruise ship, a marina and all the wonderful white sails on the water. West Seattle, Bainbridge, the Olympics, and an artichoke left to bloom. Then, around the corner, a vespa with a sidecar!! Sasquatches with a bird on it on retaining walls. Friendly neighbors. Chickens to greet. Yes, it’s changed since 1971 when my family moved here, and I’ve lived other places as an adult, but Seattle is where I belong. submitted by /u/mich_pnw |
