I saw this when commuting into work by bike today. This didn’t involve me, but near Northup Way and 116th Ave NE I heard a very long car honk. I looked over from the bike path/sidewalk and saw two cars both trying to squeeze into the single lane heading west on Northup Way. I’m assuming one had turned right from soundbound 116th Ave NE, while the other was heading straight (or maybe one was trying to merge in from the right turn lane?), but only looked once I heard the extended loud beep.
The cars ahead of them are backed up, so they are at a complete standstill. Neither car seems to want to yield to the other, so as traffic starts to inch forward, they both just continue on their path. Of course, I then hear the sound of metal crunching and they are flat against each others sides.
Just a reminder that it’s probably not worth it to get one position ahead in backed up traffic. They both now probably have to deal with insurance, repairs, etc. Keep cool out there!!
