Election Day is of course the biggest event today, coast to coast. Here are West Seattle notes:
POSTCARDS4DEMOCRACY: New postcard-writers as well as returnees are welcome at this weekly advocacy gathering, even happening on Election Day, 10:30 am-noon at C & P Coffee (5612 California SW; WSB sponsor). Sign up here before you go, if you haven’t joined in before.
ELECTION DAY PRAYER SERVICE: Noon-1 pm, Alki UCC welcomes people “of any religion or no religion” to pray for a “just and peaceful election … Be bathed in soothing music, prayers, readings and meditative silence.” (6115 SW Hinds)
WS INDIVISIBLE ELECTION NIGHT PARTY: 6-9 pm, drop in at the group’s reserved area at The Good Society (California/Lander)
BALLOT DROP BOX DEADLINE: 8 pm sharp. Here again is where you’ll find drop boxes – whether in West Seattle (we have four) or elsewhere in King County.
CANDIDATES’ ELECTION NIGHT PARTIES IN WEST SEATTLE: So far we have word of one, State House 34th District Position 2 candidate Mary Anito at Super Deli Mart (35th/Barton). We’ll add whatever else we hear of.
