Epidemic of slumlords in this city!

I’ve lived around the country and have never encountered the level of slumlords I’ve dealt with during the last 2 years I’ve lived here. Their criteria for approval is outrageous. I’ve encountered several who want 4x the monthly income, who make you jump through a million hoops even if you have perfect credit, a great job and positive former landlord references. Their arrogance and entitlement is through the roof. They act as if they’re doing you a favor and you should be honored to live on their plantation. The worst part? You move in to find out the place is filthy, there are broken appliances, outlets not working and lighting that needs repairs, amongst others. Requests for repairs down the road are met with complete apathy and indifference, acting as if you’re inconveniencing them. I’m absolutely fucking done renting here and will buy a place when my lease is up!
