I’ve been lazy in recent years and shopping more and more online, and this year I resolved to do it different. My wife and I arranged for a kid-free day to do our Christmas shopping downtown. I am SO glad we did it this way. It was fantastic. 1000 times better than doing it all online. It was great seeing all the other happy people walking around the city. It was nice putting my hands on the actual things I was buying instead of relying on bogus Amazon reviews. It was fun stopping in for treats while we were out. We both had a lot of fun and I’m proud to support real brick and mortar businesses and a vibrant downtown.
I’m more in the Christmas Spirit than I’ve been in a while. Shopping online is convenient, but its cost us all so, so much.
